“We combine the PowerSnack program with our Friday backpack program from Food Bank of Iowa,” said Brian Mangold, Principal at Hubbard-Radcliffe Elementary. “We send the coupons home with students who are in need of extra food support.”

The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation is honored to bring the PowerSnack coupons and pork sticks to another one of our rural Homegrown Iowa community school districts. Hubbard Radcliffe Elementary received 300 PowerSnack coupon booklets today, each containing $8 for a pound of deli ham and $3 for a loaf of whole wheat bread. The coupon booklets also contain recipe ideas for all meals of the day to highlight the versatility of deli ham.

Not only is it a versatile protein, but also a nutritious protein – packed with essentials to boost growth, development and learning in young children. We believe everyone deserves to have access to these essential nutrients, and that is why we are proud to be in our 10th year of the PowerSnack program. We hope it makes a difference in the lives of many students and families and provides a sense of relief during the next trip to the grocery store.
