Production Leadership Training ProgramAt Iowa Select Farms we support our employees and want them to be successful in their chosen career. That is why we are committed to our newly developed Production Leadership Training Program. This comprehensive program continues to build on the foundation established with our Manager in Training Program over the last several years. Our goals are to develop the leadership and managerial skills of new and less experienced workers, preparing them to be managers for the future. We believe the cornerstone of our success is ongoing employee development coupled with company growth and vision. Program Outline1) Establish full-time employment with Iowa Select Farms2) Classroom Trainingo Preparing for Management o DMc Consulting o Company Policies, Procedures and Processes o PQA and TQA Training and Certification 3) Production Trainingo Farrowing – We have established 14 competencies that must be demonstrated at a teaching level o Breeding – We have established 12 competencies that must be demonstrated at the teaching level Once this portion of the training has been accomplished the employee returns to their original farm and receives a performance and salary review. 4) Off-Site Training (At other farms in the system)o Lasts approximately 8 weeks o Work side by side with GDU manager for one week o Work side by side with nursery and/or wean-to-finish manager for one week o Candidate shadows the breeding department manager for one week o Current department manager steps down and candidate runs the breeding department for two weeks o Candidate shadows the farrowing department manager for one week o Current department manager steps down and candidate runs the farrowing department for two weeks
Once this portion of the training has been accomplished the employee returns to their original farm and receives a performance and salary review.
