Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation's Operation Christmas Meal Stops in Des Moines
posted on Wednesday, December 18, 2019
We believe everyone deserves a good meal, especially at Christmas time, which is why the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation is handing out 18,000 pork loins during 14 different Operation Christmas Meal events across Iowa.
Hundreds of Iowa Select Farms employees readily volunteer at their community’s giveaway, handing pork loins through car windows of families that need an extra hand during the holidays.
The spirit of giving is further ignited by encouraging those without need to pick up a pork loin and provide it to someone they know who is in need, such as a struggling single mother or an elderly, home-bound neighbor.
A heartfelt thanks to our hard-working and downright amazing employees who showed up at 3:45 a.m. (and earlier) to help run the Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation's Operation Christmas Meal.
We’ve witnessed first-hand how the littlest of gestures can provide big support to a family in need.
For nine years, Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation have hosted Operation Christmas Meal. Held at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, nearly 100 employee volunteers braved the cold to offer a free pork loin to those who wouldn't otherwise have the means for a family meal.
Thanks to everyone for coming out, and to WHO Radio's Van and Bonnie and Bob Quinn for all of the outstanding support. One down, 13 more to go!
Thank you for your warm hearts, your generosity and good spirits!
