Day two of Power Snack deliveries is going to be a big one.
On today’s agenda—10 counties, 25 stops, 1,875 pork sticks and 18,200 Power Snack coupon booklets for food-insecure kids in Iowa.
You read that right—18,200 deli ham and whole-wheat bread coupons! That’s enough to make 218,4000 “Power Snacks”.
On day one of the deliveries, we heard literal squeals of delight from teachers as we made our way into their schools with our colorful Power Snack boxes and bags of pork sticks.
“Our students recognize these coupons now and look forward to them almost as much as we do,” joked Jodi Heeren, Student and Family Development Specialist at Central Elementary in Nevada. “They really make a positive impact on the kids that need them. It’s a meal they might otherwise go without.”
Today we’ll be traveling throughout Madison, Union, Ringgold, Taylor, Adams, Adair, Hamilton, Wright, Hancock and Winnebago counties.
