2016 May Symposium is in the books!

Coming together to review progress, receive training and calibrate as a team is key to our billion pound journey. It’s been a busy month as we wrap up our Symposium and company-wide PQA certification meetings.

At our Symposium for production managers we covered an array of topics—from health strategy, biosecurity and safety to 401K plans and the work of the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation. We recognized our Select Pride managers and farms, and celebrated the progress we’ve made on our billion pound journey.

As we all push hard to reach these production goals, hard work and effort is also being done simultaneously to improve our farms and overall infrastructure, which is why we took the time to reflect on the hard work and effort of the construction, production and maintenances team as we progress through our extensive farm remodel plans. All employees viewed a ‘virtual tour’ of the Stockdale/Sow 11 farm – a farm that not only went through a remodel but also reopened as the first positively-filtered sow farm in our system. This is an exciting time at Iowa Select Farms!

Thank you to all of our employees who showed up in Afton, Dows, Webster City, Iowa Falls, Riceville and Ames for the update meetings. Communication up and down and all around is key to achieving our billion pound goal, and we’d like to thank our employees for not only their commitment this journey—but their enthusiasm! ‪#‎billionpounds‬
