4-H Group Makes a Difference for Local Families

We're so proud of the OA Richland Robins 4-H Club for making a big difference in the lives of 24 local families.

The 4-H members participated in the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation's Ignite the Spirit Program, an extension of Operation Christmas Meal. Ignite the Spirit offers student FFA and 4-H organizations two cases of pork loins and a $250 check to develop a project aimed at alleviating hunger, locally.

These students worked together to pack 24 totes containing a full holiday meal for families in need. Some items the families received included the Iowa Select Farms pork loin of course, mashed potatoes, gravy, canned corn, canned green beans, rolls, a box of brownie mix, stuffing and BBQ sauce. The project served almost 300 people.

“Thank you for giving us the opportunity to help those in need,” said club leader Becky Reis.

Keep up the great teamwork and servant leadership OA Richland Robins 4-H!
