“Every day, I wake up and do what I feel will help the families I care about and the community I live in most, and that's watching little kiddos,” said Katelyn Johnson. “That is dedicating my home to make sure they feel safe and happy. I just do it because someone needs to, but to think someone out there is thinking of me and willing to give back to me, just shows that my work really matters.”

Ashley shared just how important it is to have people like Katelyn willing to share their hearts, their homes and their lives so others can work outside of their home.

“She loves her day care babies and spends so much time teaching them new and interesting things,” said Ashley, an employee of Iowa Select Farms. “I know I could never be able to repay for everything she does for me, so I am so thankful for Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation for giving back to something I couldn’t imagine my life without. I love what I do, but I couldn’t do what I love without Katelyn."

Before nap time and right after lunch, we spent the afternoon opening new toys in Katelyn’s home. The little kiddos were so excited to dig into the new and interesting toys, books and puzzles.

“I want to take the time to thank the Iowa Select Farms employees and the generosity of the Jeff and Deb Hansen Foundation for the opportunity in give my day care kids these wonderful toys and books, along with coloring and learning materials,” said Katelyn. “I can’t wait for the hours and hours of learning, playing and laughing I will get to share with my favorite little ones because of a donation like this.”
