Berta Weide has devoted 15 years to Iowa Select Farms

Meet Berta Weide, our incredibly valued Rout Sow Farm Manager. "I blinked, and 15 years passed me by!" exclaimed Berta. Time is not the only thing that has passed. Throughout Berta's career, she has prioritized passing along her wisdom and passion for animals to those who have the pleasure of working with her.

At the beginning of her career, Berta focused on the specialized care and attention required for piglets transitioning from their mother's milk to solid feed as a Wean Pig Specialist. Now, as a Sow Farm Manager, Berta's responsibilities have pivoted towards the overall management of the farm, emphasizing the well-being, breeding, and care of the pigs as they grow into other production phases.

Beyond her dedication to her farm team, Berta's heart is equally devoted to her ten grandchildren and husband of 40 years. In her free time, Berta and her family enjoy camping and eagerly anticipate the arrival of the eleventh grandchild in April! Thank you, Berta, for 15 years and counting with Iowa Select Farms.
