Calhoun County Expo Family Fun Barn

While we don’t necessarily enjoy the extreme heat July brings, we sure do love county fair season! Our team recently had the opportunity to hang out in Rockwell City at the Calhoun County Expo Family Fun Barn. We spent the day talking with children and their families about pork production, and boy, did we have fun!

We brought all of the essentials for a great time: coloring sheets, temporary tattoos and of course, our trivia wheel! We were pleasantly surprised at the number of kids who knew the difference between gilts and sows, what pigs eat and even average litter size.

The Family Fun Barn also features a corn box, scavenger hunt in the hay, live animals, Yahtzee and much more. It’s a great addition to the Calhoun County Expo and if you live in or near Rockwell City, we encourage you to check out this FREE event with your family. The Calhoun County Expo is in full swing and has a lineup of fun, family-friendly events through Sunday.

Thanks to our local employees, Brock Nesbitt, Jake Winker and Jeff King, for helping at the event and to the fair board for extending the invite. We had a great time and are proud to be apart of the community!
