Charitable Giving to Deserving Iowans

Established in 2006 as a way to support our hometown communities like those in Hamilton County, the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation has a long tradition of charitable giving to Iowans. The Foundation’s three core missions are to relieve hunger, support military families and strengthen efforts to find a cure for childhood cancer while improving the quality of life for cancer patients.

Through various programs and efforts, the Foundation has made a difference in the lives of thousands upon thousands of deserving Iowans in the counties and communities we call home. In fact, in 2017 alone the Foundation donated nearly 4,000 pounds of pork to Hamilton County residents in need during our annual trip to Haul Out Hunger.

Local pantries, food banks and organizations that received a donation of fresh pork loins included First Baptist Church Food Pantry, Upper Des Moines Opportunity Hamilton County, Trinity Lutheran Church Food Pantry, Community Basket and The Lord’s Cupboard. In total, we hand-delivered 28 tons of fresh pork into 98 rural food pantries, an effort we have been committed to for years.
