Collins-Maxwell FFA Ignites the Spirit

We're so proud of the Collins-Maxwell FFA Chapter for making a big difference in the lives of 20 local families.

The FFA members participated in the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation's Ignite the Spirit Program, an extension of Operation Christmas Meal. Ignite the Spirit offers student FFA and 4-H organizations two cases of pork loins and a $250 check to develop a project aimed at alleviating hunger, locally.

These students worked together to use the pork loins in a food drive at their school, combining the meat with side dishes to create a delicious meal. After making deliveries to the elementary, middle school and high school food drives, they delivered the remaining loins and other food items to the Maxwell Food Pantry.

“We are grateful to take this pork to the Maxwell Food Pantry and local food drives for families in need,” said Jamie Waddingham, the Collins-Maxwell agriculture instructor and FFA advisor. “There is such a need to help families this time of year.”

Keep up the great teamwork and servant leadership Collins-Maxwell FFA members!
