Day Care in Corning Receives Little Farmer Toy Box
“It has been a rough couple of years for all of us,” said Shelby, a day care provider in Corning. “Toys at my house go through a lot of wear and tear, and we have spent extra time disinfecting to help keep kids safe. Receiving so many toys from Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation means we can save money and help fund things we may not have otherwise done. It’s special to have a company and foundation that cares about its employees, people and the communities they are in."
We wrapped up the sixth day of Little Farmer Toy Box delivering to an in-home day care in Corning. Both T’Lee and Zach, wife and husband and employees of Iowa Select Farms, nominated Shelby to receive a Little Farmer Toy Box.
“Shelby has played an absolutely integral role in allowing for Zach and myself to continue to fulfill our roles with Iowa Select Farms every day,” said T’lee. “She is always willing to get up early or keep our kids late when needed. She understands that being a part of agriculture is not just a nine to five job, or five days a week. Shelby and her husband, Eric, are big advocates for agriculture. On top of her dedication to our kids, Shelby is a large part of the Corning community and heavily involved in the Childcare Provider Awareness group. We are so blessed to know her and have her a part of our lives and our community.”
“Shelby is so very passionate about her job and genuinely cares for the kids in her care,” said Zach. “I don't know what our family would do without her. She is always willing to go out of her way to help her day care families. We know we are lucky to not just have a trusted day care that allows my wife and I to work, but to have someone who cares deeply for our kids. It allows us to contribute to the community and earn an income. We must set a good example to our kids that if you work hard, you can earn a good life, but we couldn't do that if we didn't have Shelby in our life.”
