Dows Hosts Veterans Day Pork Loin Giveaway

Wow, what an amazing night in Dows! Thanks to members of local VFW, Legion and Auxiliary chapters for participating in our pork loin giveaway in celebration of Veterans Day 2020.
With the Wright County Freedom Rock as a perfect backdrop, Iowa Select Farms employees alongside local veteran group volunteers safely handed out 200 pork loins for area veterans. At the drive thru event, volunteers cheerfully danced to patriotic music while handing out pork loins and plenty of smiles. The Auxiliary group also handed out cards made by local students thanking veterans for their service.
“This is just so special and appreciative,” said Bill Echelberger, Legion Commander and U.S. Navy Veteran. “Taking the time to organize this event just to say ‘thank you’ to our veterans—it just means so much.”
In addition to Dows, Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation held Veterans Day Pork Loin Giveaways in Creston, Ackley and Cresco.
We hope the pork loins donated will provide veterans an opportunity to gather around the table with their families and share a delicious meal – maybe even a celebration for those they love and who love them. As farmers, we’re proud of the product we produce, and are proud to share it with these brave men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country.
