Foundation Helps Fight Hunger in West Des Moines

The delivery team of Elf Jenn and Jen recently hustled over to West Des Moines Human Services
to donate 13 cases of pork loins to their food pantry.

Food pantry coordinator Althea Holcomb says they operate Monday through Friday and serve 250 unduplicated low-income households each month. She says the pork loins will be added to the orders throughout December, bringing a Christmas surprise of a hearty protein to the families they help.

The donation of pork loins was made by Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation as part of Operation Christmas Meal, an effort to donate 18,000 pork loins to families who wouldn’t otherwise have the means for a Christmas meal.
