Future Ag Leaders Scholarship 2017-18 Recipient: Adriana Alvarez

Congratulations to Adriana Alvarez on your Iowa Select Farms Future Ag Leaders Scholarship! Adriana is a 2017 graduate of Ames High School and will be studying Business Administration/Human Resources and playing basketball at Loras College in Dubuque.
Adriana is the daughter of Gus Alvarez and Adriana Hernandez of Ames and is a part-time employee for Iowa Select Farms working in the breeding and farrowing departments at Sow 12.
Once out of school, Adrianna’s focus is to giv...e back. “I want to make a difference in people’s lives,” she says. “I want to make sure kids fighting cancer and children in poverty have a better, if not the best, life ever,” she says. “I want to provide a little bit of greatness like Iowa Select Farms has done so far for us as kids."
“This scholarship will help me achieve my dream because I’ve always wanted to graduate from college and prove to my cousins in Mexico that adapting to a new life is not impossible,” Adriana says. “I want to do great things with this scholarship and make Iowa Select Farms proud.
“I hope to give back to Iowa Select Farms something great in the future because they have always been there for me and my family since we moved here,” Adriana continues. “I couldn’t have asked for a better company for my parents to work for.”
Gustavo Alvarez has been with Iowa Select Farms for 14 years and is currently the manager of Sow 10. Adriana Hernandez has been with Iowa Select Farms for 10 years and currently works in the Production Well-Being Department as a trainer.
