Congratulations to Brittany Fisher on her Iowa Select Farms Future Ag Leaders Scholarship! Brittany is a 2015 graduate of the Iowa Falls-Alden School District and currently studying Biology and Physical Therapy at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. She is the daughter of Darian and Kelly Fisher of Iowa Falls.
Brittany says she was attracted to the field of physical therapy during her own rehabilitation period for a knee injury. “I was fortunate enough to make strong connections to all five physical therapists at the Hansen Family Hospital in Iowa Falls,” she says. “Being a patient opened my eyes and I knew this was the career I wanted to pursue.
“My future career goals include having a job as soon as I graduate from graduate school and to strengthen my patients mentally and physically,” she says. “I have already job-shadowed my local therapists for 50 hours this summer and am eager to apply for future job shadows and internships.”
Brittany says she is impressed by the family-centric environment at Iowa Select Farms and by how much the company gives back. It’s especially meaningful, she says, during the pork loin giveaways at Christmas to know that her dad’s hard work paid off in helping provide Christmas meals for those in need.
Darian is a gilt development manager and has been with Iowa Select Farms for 23 years.
