Congratulations to Dillon Hightshoe on your Iowa Select Farms Future Ag Leaders Scholarship! Dillon’s grant will be used for his criminal justice studies at Des Moines Area Community College. A 2017 graduate of the Murray Community School District, Dillon is the son of Melissa Wilson and also a part-time employee of Iowa Select Farms at Clarke Sow Farm.
Dillon was extremely active in high school participating in Student Council, TAG, National Honor Society, speech, drama, football and is a member of the Murray Volunteer Fire Department. His goal following graduation from DMACC is to enter the police academy and then to return to the Osceola, Iowa, area as a police officer and volunteer firefighter. “I have always wanted a job that would allow me to serve my community.”
Dillon also says he loves his job at Iowa Select Farms and considers agriculture and working for Iowa Select in the future his backup plan if he decides being a police officer isn’t a good fit.
“I enjoy taking care of the animals and working with a great team and know the company is full of great opportunities,” he says.
