Congratulations to Harper Mehmen on your Iowa Select Farms Future Ag Leaders Scholarship! Harper is pursuing liberal arts studies with an emphasis in human services and social work at North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City. She is the daughter of Chris and Angi Smith of Belmond and a 2015 graduate of Belmond High School.
“I chose the field of social work because helping people reach their greatest potential is what brings me joy,” she says. “Everyone can benefit from having a social worker to connect them with resources available when life throws its punches. This field offers me many opportunities to establish meaningful relationships and touch people’s lives.”
“My future career goals are to continue on after community college to receive my Bachelor’s degree in social work and to minor in counseling.”
Harper says she appreciates how Iowa Select Farms is so family oriented. Chris Smith is a finishing supervisor and has been with Iowa Select Farms for 24 years
