Congratulations to Kaitlyn Fields on your Iowa Select Farms Future Ag Leaders Scholarship! Kaitlyn is a 2017 graduate of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School and is studying Creative Writing and Theater Arts at Waldorf University in Forest City.

Kaitlyn is the daughter of Chris and Sarah Fields of Clarion. “Some people say that creativity waits for nothing,” she says, “and I can confirm this to be true. Whether in mid-conversation, in the middle of class, or on a date, if an idea comes, it must be written down at that very second!”

Kaitlyn says the creative field is not just something she wants to pursue, “there is nothing else I could picture myself doing for the rest of my life. Every thought that crosses my mind plays as a movie or a story that needs to be told.”

Caitlyn is an extremely active member of her community participating in volunteer events such as Crossroads Youth and Family Center, spending summers as a volunteer at Iowa Specialty Hospital and being a volunteer actor at the Iowa Rivers Community Theater.

“I do these activities because I love to make people smile, the same way that I do when I’m on stage or reciting a self-written poem.”

Kaitlyn describes Iowa Select Farms as “a really good company. I like the way they bring people together. It’s good to meet other people to find out what they’re doing.”

Chris is a finishing supervisor for Iowa Select Farms and has been with the company for 22 years.
