Haul Out Hunger 2022 Delivers to Chariton

We are excited to be in some of our southern Iowa communities for day 2!

Our first stop of the day was at Tuesday Together Meals in Chariton, IA.

This pantry serves 150 meals each week, and their name “Tuesday Together Meals” comes from the day they distribute these 150 take-out meals – Tuesday.

Volunteer Teresa Lahart said, “Those with food insecurity often sacrifice the purchase of meat when managing a limited budget. We serve protein at every meal, and we recognize the importance of protein in a healthy diet.”

We agree! We are so glad we are able to help provide a source of quality protein to these Tuesday meals with our donation of 60 pork loins – totaling roughly 1,080 servings.
