Our final stop in Creston for the day is at Creston Area Food Pantry.
“One of the most expensive items for a family is meat, so we are grateful when programs like Haul Out Hunger can help us with our mission to provide a weekly healthy protein source,” said volunteer Joyce Baker.
This pantry serves 110 households per week, so we know that the donation of 2,592 servings of pork loin will help so many people in need.
Along with Joyce, there are several volunteers who help this pantry run smoothly. Just a few of the duties include ordering food, organizing volunteers, stocking the pantry, unloading the food trucks, food distribution for seniors, and many more.
“Sometimes our guests just want to share something in their life and our volunteers are there with food and a smile to welcome them.”
