Haul Out Hunger 2022 Delivers to Howard County

posted on Wednesday, July 20, 2022

Our final stop for the day was at Howard County Food Pantry in Cresco, IA!

Martin Ahrndt, volunteer at the Howard County Food Pantry, mentioned, “Inflation and other issues have caused the prices of food to increase, so the funds families do have for food, do not buy as much. Several families have commented when they pick up their food that without the pantry their family would go hungry. They are especially happy when they see meat is included in the bags. Meat is the single most expensive part of planning meals.”

With 10 cases of pork loin donated to this food pantry today, totaling 2160 servings, we are hopeful this protein helps families create a well-balanced meal with a quality protein source.

It was a great day visiting some of our Homegrown Iowa communities and visiting with volunteers at various food pantries! We thank you for your service to your communities, and we are so glad we are able to assist in helping families in need.
