This pantry serves an average of 90 people per month, and their volunteers are there to assist the guests and provide a friendly face.
Volunteer Ami Heckman told us, “Meat is always the most expensive item in the grocery cart. It is the foundation block of each meal made in the home. Now, with gas prices so high, it puts an even heavier strain on the grocery budget. The grocery budget is one of the few places where a person can try to cut back when times are tough. It is the first place to feel the hurt.”
We were able to donate 2,160 servings of pork loin to the Murray Church of Christ Food Pantry in hopes of making those difficult choices just a little bit easier for some of our families.
Our deliveries for week 1, include a total of 138 cases of pork loins, equaling 1,656 pork loins and 29,808 servings.
