Helping the Helpers Visits Polk County Health Department

posted on Thursday, May 14, 2020

There ladies are definitely helping—helping perform contact tracing, that is. The team at Polk County Health Department is alerted when a resident tests positive for Coronavirus, then checks to make sure the patient has been notified of the result. Then they call the infected person, check in on how they are doing and ask with whom they have had close contact, including household members, co-workers and companions.

The contact tracers give advice on how the infected or exposed person can stay at home safely, and help to set up services, like grocery deliveries.helpers
