“Osage Community Day Care is a perfect example of private and public partnerships that came together to help fulfill a need in the community,” said Ali Kraber, a representative of the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation. “What was made of it was truly incredible. It is so evident just how important it is in the community and how much families love the director, staff and environment the day care center offers.”

There is a combination of in-home and day care centers in the Osage area, both serve a vital part of the community, but when it came to Melissa and her husband, they knew Osage Community Day Care was the best option for their two boys.

“We have loved every aspect of Osage Community Day Care, and I couldn’t imagine having my boys in any other place,” said Melissa, an employee of Iowa Select Farms. “They combine learning, fun, activities and exercise all into a regular day. They give our boys structure and development, which is important to us. Finding the right balance is key, and we are lucky to have that in Osage Community Day Care.”

Both Melissa and her husband, along with her two boys, shared in the delivery of the Little Farmer Toy Box to Osage Community Day Care. During the delivery, we had the opportunity to talk to the director and some of the other day care providers.

“It was a long time in the making, from planning, fundraising and construction, but it was all worth it,” said Shelley, Director of Osage Community Day Care. “We have an amazing staff, parents, kids, and so much support in the community to make it all possible, and we are so thankful for all of it. The Little Farmer Toy Box and the dedication of a company like Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation is just another wonderful example of how amazing that support is from the community.”
