Iowa Select Farms Nutrient Management Meeting Held in Ames

So great to see our custom manure applicator crews recently at the annual Iowa Select Farms Nutrient Management Meeting in Ames. These 80 crews are as Homegrown Iowa as they come—small business owners living and working in rural Iowa, and ones who have made major investments in tractors, application equipment and precision ag technology.

Nutrient Management Meeting

Most importantly, we share the same passion for a winning conservation practice—swine manure! Together, we take our nutrient storage, management and application responsibility seriously as we recognize the tremendous value it has to farmers and to restoring soil health.

During the meeting, our applicator teams received a biosecurity refresher and took in nutrient management, operational and health services updates from Keith Kratchmer, Noel Williams and Pete Thomas, DVM.

The Environmental Services team also launched the Iowa Select Farms Pumper Portal, a new tool that captures and provides records via smartphone or tablet devices to improve operational efficiency and continue to ensure 4R Stewardship of manure application—right time, right rate, right amount and the right way.

And since it's clear by the photos this group takes great pride in their businesses—we wanted to add to their collection of cool farm swag with a tee made especially for our nutrient management team and crews.
