When Justin saved a drowning man from the river, he never knew that it would lead him to pursue a career in farming. What that experience taught him was that his personality traits of loving an adrenaline rush, problem solving, and physical activity would lead him to a desire to work in agriculture.
Justin is currently attending Hawkeye Community College to attain a degree in ag business. He would also like to add classes in Precision Ag and Swine Science to better prepare him for his future in farm management, ultimately working with Iowa Select.
Justin is the son of Bryan and Joanna, but it is his Uncle Brad that helped him discover his passions. Justin takes care of two hog farms for Brad and has learned that he likes overseeing himself and the decisions that allow him to push his own limits.
Justin hopes that his future does not include saving another drowning man but will allow him to “prevent the noble occupation of farming from drowning”.
