Kicking Off Power Snack Day Four

Good morning, LuVerne, Iowa! We are kicking off our fourth day of Power Snack 2021 with the panthers in the LuVerne Community School District.

We have been busy travelling to schools all over Iowa with the mission of fighting childhood hunger. The Power Snack program delivers coupon booklets with a $5 coupon for fresh deli ham and a $3 coupon for a loaf of whole wheat bread, as well as recipes, for students to make their very own “Power Snack” at home.

Here at the LuVerne Community School District, the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation, in coordination with Iowa Select Farms, is stocking the teachers with 200 coupon booklets to help their students and families. Along with that, we are leaving 200 pork sticks as well to serve as a nutritious and easy snack to promote focused learning.
