“We set out on a mission to give back to day cares in our Homegrown Iowa communities to say thank you, but this mission has become so much more,” said Ali Kraber, a representative of the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation. “We are sharing stories of just how impactful day cares are to the generations in rural Iowa. Kids who will grow up to also live here, take over family farms and help rural Iowa thrive. What a fun way to bring things full circle by not only donating agriculture-inspired toys but sharing the heartfelt stories of the importance of our day care providers.”

On a very snowy morning, we kicked off the seventh day of deliveries with a stop in Gilbert at the Little Tigers Learning Center. John and his wife met us on a snowy morning to help deliver a Little Farmer Toy Box to a day care that has meant a lot to them.

“We really find our day care so important to us,” said John, an employee of Iowa Select Farms. “They take excellent care of our kids, understand our needs and have become a real staple in our community since they have been open. I appreciate that the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation was willing to give back to our day care providers and give some very cool agriculture toys that we know will benefit all the kids that attend the day care.”

When two parents need to work, the question of day care is always a meaningful discussion. John and his wife Nicole are so thankful to have such an excellent day care like Little Tigers Learning Center in their community.

“My wife and I both have full-time careers, but we know we couldn’t do it without Little Tigers Learning Center,” said John. “We trust them with the two most important things in the world to us - our boys. They truly are an extension of our family.”
