MATURA Outreach in Taylor County

“That was nice nanna, now no one will go hungry,” exclaimed the grandson of Debbie Tillman, right as our pork loin delivery crew left the Lenox Neighborhood Center--the MATURA facility for Taylor county. Debbie and her grandson were both on-hand when we delivered five cases of pork loins to their outreach center, a local organization that serves 20+ families in need by offering food baskets and preparing and serving meals.

“We rebuilt this Center three years ago and we continue to grow,” said Debbie, who dedicates her time to running the Center. “We are open three days a week and clients can come in once a month to get food to help them get through." Debbie said they fill food baskets with cereal, spaghetti sauce, soups, fruits, applesauce, peaches, pears, cans of pork and beans, ketchup, peanut butter, canned tuna and chicken, juice, eggs, potatoes and baked goods and provide those to families, and also do a food basket during the holidays. “Most of our families are 5-6 people in size, and we cover the northern half of Taylor county. “We don’t know how we could do it without donations like this, we’re just so grateful.” Keep up the outstanding work Debbie!
