We wrapped up the seventh day of deliveries at another in home day care in Alden. Megan has dedicated several rooms in her beautiful farm house for play areas, learning spaces filled with books and so many other fun toys scattered across the different rooms in her home.

“The care and passion our day care providers like Megan have matters deeply to the health and sustainability of our communities,” said Ali Kraber, a representative of the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation. “Without them, the farming and agriculture sector of Iowa would not survive. As we uplift our day cares, share their stories and give back to them, we need to know that it doesn’t stop here; we must continue to help the people that help us so much and allow our rural economies to thrive.”

Lance wished he could join to deliver the toy box to Megan, his long time day care provider for his kids, but due to the severe winter storm that morning, he had to be at the farm to help with chores. He shared just how important Megan has been to his whole family.

“Megan means the world to my family,” said Lance, an employee of Iowa Select Farms. “My children have been going to Megan’s home since the beginning. She taught my kids values, hard work, respect and just how to be good people. She really was a very positive influence on them, which is something I could never thank her enough for. Along with her incredible influence, she was always so understanding of the farm lifestyle. Her help allowed me to dedicate myself to my work while knowing my kids were in a good, safe and wonderful environment.”
