Nevada Community Cupboard

“We’re here to help out anyone in eastern Story County,” said Gil Peterson, coordinator for the Community Cupboard in Nevada when we stopped by to deliver a load of pork loins. Gil has been running the pantry out of St. Patrick Catholic Church since 1997 and enjoys every minute of it.

“I’m a community guy!” said Gil. “And we get so much community support and donations for the pantry, it’s really great to see.”
At the Nevada Community Cupboard, Gil serves 124 families per month. That’s a lot of families! Luckily, Gil says he gets around ten volunteers that help out with organizing and running the pantry.
“We’re open every Saturday morning but families can call if it’s an emergency and we’ll open for them,” said Gil.

Shout out to Gil for everything he does for his community, it is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed!
