"If I'm being honest, this event is one of the coolest things I've ever been apart of," said Lake City Police Chief, Bobby Rist. "We're out here helping people in the community and just having a lot of fun."

We kicked off our final day of Operation Christmas Meal deliveries in Lake City this morning. It was stop 11 of 13 on our journey to deliver 18,000 pork loins for Iowans in need this holiday season.

"I grew up in Calhoun county and now work for Iowa Select Farms as a contractor caring for pigs in the area," said Korey Vogel of Lohrville. "It's awesome to work for a company that is committed to giving back to our communities."

Operation Christmas Meal kicked off Friday, November 30, at the Iowa State Fairgrounds and will wrap up this evening in Pocahontas at the Iowa Select Farms warehouse.
