Operation Christmas Meal visits Franklin County

“This morning, being out here has been a touching experience,” said Lili Alonzo, human resources specialist for Iowa Select Farms. “We have great communities, great people, and we take care of each other, and that’s what it’s all about. It touches my heart.”

Earlier this week, employees of Iowa Select Farms gave away 1,000 pork loins to families in Hampton as part of Operation Christmas Meal. Hampton was one of 12 stops along the 2018 route throughout rural Iowa.

“The holidays can be a difficult time for some families, with the food bill and presents for children, said Tiffany Schnitker, production well-being specialist for Iowa Select Farms. “We want to be able to help take away one worry—a healthy meal.”

“Something like this makes you feel really good,” said Derek Steere, finishing supervisor for Iowa Select Farms. “It’s a good time of the year to give back, and we like coming together to give back to our communities.” #HomegrownIowa
