Operation Christmas Meal visits Hardin County

“It’s incredible to be here in my hometown, helping friends and neighbors that I know could really use it this time of year,” said Tim Hermsen, Senior Finishing Supervisor at Iowa Select Farms and longtime resident of Iowa Falls. “To be able to help these people that truly need it is amazing and I’m so happy to be a part of this event.”

We kicked off day four of Operation Christmas Meal pork loin deliveries in Iowa Falls—hometown and headquarters of Iowa Select Farms. It was stop 8 of 13 on our journey to deliver 18,000 pork loins for Iowans in need this holiday season. Thus far we've visited Des Moines, Mount Ayr, Afton, Humeston, Hampton, Riceville and Osage. Today we will also visit Webster City and Clarion and Monday will wrap things up in Lake City, Sac City and Pocahontas.

“We really wanted to give back to communities all across Iowa, not just Des Moines like we've typically done in the past with Operation Christmas Meal,” explained Allen Whiley, Director of Grow-Finish. “The communities that we’re visiting today have supported our business throughout the years and this is our way of saying, ‘thank you'."
