Schools
According to the Food Bank of Iowa, one in seven Iowa children is considered food-insecure, which is why we were so excited to visit more than 10 schools in the Des Moines-metro and
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowathis year for Operation Christmas Meal.

“We will be calling all of our families directly to see who could benefit from these pork loins,” said Ariel DuPey with the Boys & Girls Club. “I know it’s been a challenging year for so many and these pork loins will be a relief for so many families.”

Of the schools we visited, distribution will range from food pantries and holiday baskets to meal delivery programs. It’s been a year of challenges and adaptation for schools and we’re so grateful for all teachers and staff do to care for kiddos in-need.

In total, 106 cases of pork loins (22,896 servings of pork!) were donated to help feed children in Des Moines this holiday season.
