Madision, students and a staff member at GTCSD“Many of our families are living paycheck to paycheck, and with the increase in food prices the Power Snack program has been a huge help,” shared Angie Woods, Superintendent Secretary at Graettinger-Terril Community School District. “I get responses from parents that they are so thankful for the coupons.”

The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation feels honored to play a part in providing a healthy meal for students and families in our communities, and we know how far the coupons extend. The Power Snack coupons contain $8 off deli ham and $3 for a loaf of whole wheat bread. Graettinger-Terril Community School District received 400 of these coupons today, and this will help supply over 4,000 nutritious, delicious and protein-packed meals for families in this district.

Along with the coupons, we are also delivering pork snack sticks to provide immediate hunger relief in the classroom. Teachers are welcome to keep these snack sticks in their desks and pass out to students in need of an extra boost during the day.

We understand how difficult it can be to be fully engaged and ready to learn while at school when a student does not have the necessary nutrients to push them through the day. The goal of the Power Snack coupons is to combat this issue and provide students with that healthy snack or meal needed.
