“I know that parents have been appreciative of the availability to access healthy snacks for their kids because of the PowerSnack program,” said Mark Wenzel, Principal at Twin Rivers Elementary School.
The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation has been honored to bring our PowerSnack program to schools in our Homegrown Iowa communities now for the 10th year. We love the familiarity students and families feel with the program and the excitement it brings to so many.
Twin Rivers Elementary School received 200 PowerSnack coupons today along with 200 pork snack sticks. The coupons provide $8 for shaved or sliced ham and $3 for a loaf of whole wheat bread. The booklets also contain kid-friendly recipes that highlight the versatility of deli ham.
Ham is a nutritious protein that can be used during any meal of the day which makes it both a healthy and easy option. Unfortunately, it is not always easy to purchase at the grocery store. We hope the coupons for the deli ham and whole wheat bread make it less difficult to add these products to the cart at the grocery store so kids can feel energized and ready to learn.
