Madison and STElm. principa“The PowerSnack coupons provide a daily snack to ensure students are getting access to proper nutrition throughout the day to help with their overall academic success,” shared Josh Culberson, Principal at Saint Ansgar Community School District Elementary.

The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation believes no child should have to face the barrier of hunger in order to reach success. The PowerSnack program was started in order to provide a healthy snack and meal to combat the issue of hunger both in and out of the classroom. We know that ham provides the nutrients necessary to be energized and strengthened throughout the day.

We are honored to have delivered 300 PowerSnack coupons today, valued at $3,300 in total. These coupons provide $8 worth of deli ham and $3 worth of whole wheat bread. Along with the PowerSnack coupons, 200 pork snack sticks were also left at St. Ansgar Community School District today to provide an immediate hunger relief to students throughout the school day.

We are proud to provide a healthy and nutritious protein to families throughout Iowa, and we are even more honored to provide accessibility to it - even during a time when purchasing healthy options at the grocery store is so difficult.
