Power Snack 2022 Provides Nutrition to Newell-Fonda CSD

“The PowerSnack program is a wonderful resource for so many families, especially at a time when food prices are so high,” said Jennifer Smith, School Nurse at Newell-Fonda Community School District. “I love that the coupons provide staple items of nutritional value.”

You heard it from the nurse herself – ham and whole wheat bread are excellent sources of protein and nutrients. Ham provides the nutrients necessary for growth, development and cognitive learning for young children and adolescents.

Newell-Fonda CSD received 1,100 PowerSnack coupons today, and each coupon booklet contains $8 for deli ham and $3 for whole wheat bread. Not only can these items be combined to create an easy and nutritious meal or snack, but both can be used in many other recipes. Along with the coupons, the PowerSnack booklets also provide easy and fun recipes for children and adolescents to try on their own with the deli ham.

We love the versatility that this nutritious protein offers, and we hope many students and families take advantage of these items to create a healthy and balanced meal.
