Power Snack 2022 Provides Resources for Lenox Community Schools

Lenox PS“The Power Snack program provides additional access to food for both students and their families,” said David Henrichs, Superintendent at Lenox Community Schools. “During this time of high inflation, many families are struggling to provide all the daily necessities including food.”

The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation wants to show Iowans our support during such a difficult time, and we know how important it is to have healthy food in the kitchen. The grocery store aisles can be a dark and intimidating place right now, but we hope the 700 Power Snack coupons delivered to Lenox Elementary today can help ease that grocery store discomfort for many students and families.

These coupons account for $5,600 in deli ham and $2,100 in whole wheat bread. These ingredients can provide a healthy meal or snack option for students to make on their own, even if parents are away from the home. We also recognize that school is one of the only times that many students receive a healthy and nutritious meal, and we hope the coupons can help fill that gap during extended breaks and weekends away from school.
