Power Snack 2022 Rides to River Valley CSD

We have a backpack program where kid-friendly meals are sent home for weekend meals,” said Tonya Carstens, 4th Grade Teacher at River Valley Community School District. “We add the PowerSnack coupons to our backpack program, and our school nurse also shares these snacks with those in need.”

River Valley Elementary School received 500 PowerSnack coupons today along with 200 pork snack sticks. The coupons supply $8 worth of shaved or sliced deli ham and $3 worth of whole wheat bread. The pork snack sticks were added to our program a few years back in order to provide immediate hunger relief for students who come to school hungry and unfocused.

The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation recognizes the efforts school faculty put forth to ensure their students are properly cared for, and sometimes our economy still presents barriers. We hope the PowerSnack coupons supplement these efforts and provide a healthy meal or snack for many students and families in need.
