Power Snack Makes a Difference in Clarksville

"The Power Snack coupons take stress and pressure off of our students," said Kristi Hannemann, principal at Clarksville CSD. "This program allows students to focus on the things that really matter, like learning and socialization."

We have been busy travelling to schools all over Iowa with the mission of fighting childhood hunger. The Power Snack program delivers coupon booklets with a $5 coupon for fresh deli ham and a $3 coupon for a loaf of whole wheat bread, as well as recipes, for students to make their very own “Power Snack” at home.

Here at Clarksville Elementary School, the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation, in coordination with Iowa Select Farms, is stocking the teachers with 400 coupon booklets to help their students and families. Along with that, we are leaving 200 pork sticks as well to serve as a nutritious and easy snack to promote focused learning.
