Power Snack Stops in Iowa Falls

Iowa Falls

The Super Snacker has finally made it to Iowa Falls! Although her visit was short and sweet, she did a lot of damage—in the best possible way.

100 students in the Iowa Falls-Alden MS/HS will benefit from Power Snack, a program of Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation that provides the food ingredients for kids to make their own meals at-home. Four times throughout the school year (or as-needed), Laura will distribute the coupon booklets to students who can then redeem them for $5 worth of deli ham and $3 worth of whole wheat or whole grain bread from the grocery store.

This year, the Program also doubled the number of Pork Sticks being donated, which included 400 to the Iowa Falls-Alden school district. Pork Sticks are an immediate infusion of protein when the “hangries” strike to help children focus on learning, rather than a rumbling tummy.

Now in its eighth year, Power Snack has supported nearly 2,000 students in the Iowa Falls-Alden School District, providing them with enough resources for 96,000 protein-packed "Power Snacks".
