Power Snack is BACK! You heard that right, and we’re only just getting started. This morning, we stopped at Prairie Valley Elementary School in Farnhamville to deliver 700 Power Snack deli ham and whole wheat bread coupon booklets, as well as 200 pork sticks.
Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation are committed to fighting childhood hunger in Iowa and continue to do so through our Power Snack program. Over the next few weeks, employees of Iowa Select Farms will be visiting schools across the state of Iowa to deliver coupon booklets with easy-to-follow recipes and a $5 coupon for one pound of deli ham and a $3 coupon for any whole wheat loaf of bread. Students eligible to receive these booklets have the ability to make their very own “Power Snacks” at home.
“These coupons provide meals to our kids who don’t have much food at home,” said Kyle Johnson, Student Support Coordinator for the Southeast Valley Jaguars . “It removes the burden from the students and allows them to have nutritious meals at home.”
