It is a tremendous accomplishment that with everything we have going on, that our managers and employees have continued to take the time every day to talk about safety, review the procedures and make sure everyone is looking out for one another,” said safety manager Eric Wiechmann. “It shows how much they care about their teams and understand the importance of training.”
Congratulations to the teams at Sow 1, Sow 6, Sow 8, Sow 9, Sow 10, Sow 11, Sow 12, Sow 14, Sow 16, Sow 18, Sow 20, Sow 21, Sow 22, Sow 26, Sow 27, Sow 30, Sow 36, Sow 113, Sow 116 and Sow 118 for being recognized with Safety Awards for quarter one, taking home these top honors for passing their on-farm safety audits, completing their training and having zero lost time injuries.
“Many of the farms are receiving the awards for their second and third consecutive quarters,” added Eric. Lawra Mathes and the Sow 21 team and John Hoffmann and the Sow 26 hit five consecutive quarters, Mike Spalding and the Sow 118 team hit six consecutive quarters and Aaron Perry and his Sow 27 team are current the longest running performances at eight consecutive quarters.
In addition to announcing the Q1 Safety Award Winners, Eric also recognized all employees for achieving a company record—only having one lost time accident this past quarter. He also revealed Iowa Select Farms has once again been recognized for excellence by the National Safety Council.
“This is an award that goes out to all of our managers and employees, for following the correct procedures, keeping employees engaged in safety matters, taking the time to train, holding each other accountable and overall putting such a high priority on managing a safe workplace,” said Wiechmann. #billionplus
