The Riceville Booster Club announces plans for appearance upgrades to the Riceville Community Schools softball and baseball diamonds. Funded by a $2,000 grant from Iowa Select Farms, the Booster Club plans to add signage to the baseball and softball dugouts, a terraced flower garden to the home softball dugout and crushed red rock will be placed along the backstop fence of the baseball field.
“This project will enhance our school grounds and make it more visually appealing to our students, opponent spectators, and community members,” explained Bryce Conway, co-president of the Riceville Booster Club.
“The Booster Club has lately been focusing on facility upgrades, along with our usual purchasing of new uniforms and equipment,” Conway says. “Our community is full of school pride and parents truly understand the school cannot solely fund all of our sporting activities. It takes a lot of time and money to keep athletic teams up and running.”
Other recent Booster Club projects include new scoreboards and new sprinkler systems for both the baseball and softball fields. #communitycare#billionplus
