Two kind-hearted women came to greet us as we pulled up to Riverbend Child Care in Iowa Falls where their motto is ‘no hungry child left behind’. Our delivery crew dropped off 24 pork loins for the children and families they serve. Director of the child care facility, Rosie Garcia, says Riverbend Child Care has been caring for children and families for around 25 years now and doing whatever they can to ensure the children in their community receive a good meal.
“We have around 70 children enrolled at Riverbend at any given time and during these summer months it gets even busier because the children are out of school,” said Rosie.
With children out of school for the summer, Rosie and Riverbend Child Care help fill a void and provide meals for children who might otherwise not have one during the summer.
“It’s so important that kids receive protein in their diet and a pork loin is a very nutritious and wholesome way to do that, so this really helps a lot,” said Rosie.
A big thank you to everything Rosie and the people at Riverbend Childcare do for their community!
