Scholarship Winner Spotlight-Nicholas

“I had the best math teacher ever,” said Nicholas Bottorff, Iowa Select Farms Future Ag Leader Scholarship recipient. “I enjoy problem solving and analytics, and her passion motivated me to pursue a specialized career in accounting.”

Nicholas is a perfect example of a teacher’s impact on a student. Nicholas currently attends North Iowa Area Community College and plans to continue his education at UNI. He’s studying to be a forensic accountant—a degree specializing in identifying business crimes—and plans to eventually obtain his CPA.

Nicholas says he appreciates the positive impact agriculture has had on his family. Eric’s father is an IT Senior Field Technician for Iowa Select Farms. The Bottorff family also hobby farms at their home in Hampton.
