Spreading Joy to Kids in Riceville

“It was like Christmas morning,” said Ali Kraber, a representative of the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation. “We quickly and quietly rolled in, unpacked the toys, laid them out for the kids and left. Just 30 minutes later, the day care providers were texting the most wonderful pictures of the joy kids had been able to play with all brand new toys after waking up from nap time.”

As we dropped off a Little Farmer Toy Box over nap time at the Riceville Day Care, we saw sheer dedication by day care providers to assemble and get toys ready for the little ones when they woke up. You can tell just how much pride they take in making every little kid in their care happy.

“We couldn’t be more grateful for Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation for the amount of joy they brought to our kids,” said Ashley, a day care provider at Riceville. “You would think it was Christmas morning. Kids woke up to many new toys and could not contain their excitement. We are so lucky for a company like Iowa Select Farms to be in our communities and give back to us in this way.”

The Riceville Day Care means so much to the employees of Iowa Select Farms. Read a little more about the impact they have made on their lives.

“The Riceville Day Care has helped Iowa Select Farms families so much. They literally go above and beyond every day when it comes to the kids in their care,” said Dominique, an employee of Iowa Select Farms. “They open early, stay late, understand flexibility and really help all the kids that walk through their doors. We say thank you often, but we are just so lucky to work for a company that wants to give back to the day cares that are essential to me as an employee.”
“Riceville is surrounded by agriculture, so the little farmer toy box is so fitting,” said Dean, a contractor of Iowa Select Farms. “ The day care providers at Riceville really care about teaching the little kids they watch, so I know all the learning materials will go a long way. Not all the kids grow up on farms in the community, but all of them could benefit from learning about farming.”

“When I first arrived in America, I didn’t know anyone to help with my child,” said Flor, an employee of Iowa Select Farms. “So to have a day care like Riceville directly connected with the school is so helpful and really put my mind at ease knowing there are so many helping hands making sure my baby has everything she needs. They really are true lifesavers, our day care providers who help our big Iowa Select Farms Family in this community.”
